Mural for John Reed Fitness in Lyon

I had the honor of being contacted by “StreetArtBerlin” to create a unique mural at the John Reed Fitness club in Lyon. Inspired by the elegance of Alfons Mucha’s Art Nouveau and the futuristic aesthetics of the Cyberpunk movement, I painted one of my signature characters for this space.

This mural blends organic forms with mechanical elements, symbolizing the fusion of humanity and technology, a recurring theme in my work.

This mural is part of an ongoing exploration of hybrid aesthetics combining historical artistic references with contemporary visual culture. The integration of Art Nouveau influences from Alfons Mucha and cyberpunk visual language creates a dialogue between past ornamental traditions and futuristic technological imagination.

The context of a fitness club introduces an additional layer of meaning. The body, performance and physical transformation are central themes in such environments, which naturally resonate with the idea of human-machine fusion. The mural interacts directly with this context by extending the notion of physical enhancement into a symbolic and visual dimension.

The collaboration with StreetArtBerlin highlights the growing integration of street art into interior architectural spaces. Unlike traditional outdoor murals, this work is embedded within a controlled environment, where lighting, movement and spatial design influence the perception of the artwork.

The character depicted in the mural follows a visual language I have developed across multiple projects. It combines flowing organic structures with mechanical components integrated into the body. This hybridization reflects the tension between natural form and technological extension.

The Art Nouveau influence, particularly inspired by Alfons Mucha, is visible in the ornamental composition, the fluid lines and the decorative framing of the character. These elements contrast with the sharper, more technical aspects of cyberpunk aesthetics, creating a layered visual structure.

The theme of human-machine fusion is central to this piece. It reflects contemporary questions about identity in an increasingly technological environment, where digital systems and physical experience are deeply interconnected.

In the context of a gym, this fusion takes on a specific meaning. Physical training already implies transformation of the body, discipline and enhancement. The mural extends these ideas into a fictional dimension where biological and mechanical systems merge.

The integration of the mural into the John Reed Fitness space also contributes to the overall atmosphere of the venue. It transforms the interior into a hybrid space between art installation and functional environment, where visual art becomes part of the user experience.

This type of collaboration demonstrates how street art can move beyond urban exterior walls and integrate into interior architectural projects. It opens new possibilities for artists to interact with audiences in more controlled and immersive environments.

Ultimately, this mural represents a convergence of artistic influences, spatial context and conceptual themes. It brings together Art Nouveau heritage, cyberpunk aesthetics and contemporary reflections on the human body within a single visual framework.
