Valkyrie Hoodie / A Cyberpunk Interpretation of a Timeless Legend
Valkyrie Hoodie reproduces one of my large-scale mural in Geneva, Switzerland, during the House of Paint project. More than a simple reproduction of a wall painting, this artwork represents an exploration of themes that have become central to my artistic practice: the relationship between humanity and technology, the dialogue between organic life and mechanical evolution, and the reinterpretation of historical symbols through a contemporary cyberpunk aesthetic.
The original mural was painted as part of an international street art event organized by Wall's Street GVA and House of Paint. Bringing together artists from different countries, the festival transformed public spaces into open-air galleries where each wall became an opportunity to tell a story. Within this context, I wanted to create an image that could communicate beyond language and cultural boundaries while remaining deeply rooted in mythology and modern society.
Rather than illustrating a traditional Norse Valkyrie, I chose to imagine how such a legendary figure might exist in a future where technology has become inseparable from everyday life. Mythology has always reflected the concerns of the societies that created it. In the twenty-first century, our greatest transformations are no longer driven solely by nature or religion but increasingly by science, artificial intelligence, robotics and digital communication. Reimagining a Valkyrie within this environment became a natural way to explore those changes.
Between Humanity and Machine
At the center of the composition stands a female warrior whose appearance combines human elegance with mechanical precision. She is neither entirely human nor entirely artificial. Instead, she represents a balance between biological identity and technological evolution.
Her calm expression contrasts with the complexity of the cybernetic structures surrounding her. Rather than portraying conflict through violence, the artwork suggests an inner strength built on resilience, adaptation and self-awareness. This duality reflects a recurring question throughout my work: how much of our humanity can remain intact as technology increasingly shapes the way we think, communicate and create?
Standing beside the Valkyrie is a robotic companion carrying two katanas. Instead of functioning as a simple bodyguard or weapon, this mechanical figure symbolizes the tools humanity continuously invents. Technology itself is neither good nor evil; its impact depends entirely on how we choose to use it. The robot therefore becomes both protector and potential threat, reminding us that innovation always carries responsibility.
Organic Life Versus Mechanical Evolution
Flowers have long occupied an important place in my artistic universe, and in Valkyrie the peonies were chosen with intention. Traditionally associated with courage, perseverance and honor, they soften the composition while introducing a visual contrast against the metallic structures and cybernetic elements surrounding the characters. This dialogue between fragile organic forms and engineered machinery forms the visual foundation of the artwork. The contrast is not presented as a conflict but as a coexistence. Nature and technology are intertwined, each influencing the other while retaining their own identity.
Throughout the composition, flowing ornamental lines inspired by Art Nouveau interact with futuristic mechanical structures. This combination reflects one of the defining characteristics of my work: bringing together historical artistic influences with contemporary science-fiction imagery. Rather than opposing past and future, I prefer to create visual connections between them.
A Mural Created for Geneva
Painting Valkyrie in Geneva represented another important chapter in my collaboration with House of Paint and Wall's Street GVA. Having previously participated in several editions of the project, returning once again offered the opportunity to continue an artistic dialogue with both the organizers and the local community.
Large-scale murals occupy a unique place within contemporary art. Unlike works displayed inside galleries, they become part of everyday urban life. Residents encounter them while walking through the city, often without expecting to discover a monumental artwork. This accessibility has always been one of the reasons I remain passionate about mural painting.
Every wall carries its own history, architecture and atmosphere. Rather than imposing an image onto a building, my objective is always to create a composition capable of integrating naturally into its surroundings while inviting viewers to pause and reflect. The welcoming atmosphere created by the organizers, together with the support of Loopcolors and everyone involved in the festival, made it possible to bring this ambitious project to life under excellent conditions.
Bringing the Artwork into Your Space
This Valkyrie Hoodie allows collectors and enthusiasts to experience the artwork beyond its original location in Geneva. While the mural remains permanently connected to the urban environment in which it was created, the print offers another way to appreciate its details, textures and composition from a closer perspective. Whether displayed in a living room, studio, office or creative workspace, the artwork brings together influences from street art, mythology, Art Nouveau and cyberpunk culture within a single composition. Its balanced palette and intricate line work reveal new details over time, rewarding repeated observation.
Unlike the monumental scale of the original mural, the Hoodie encourages a more intimate relationship with the image. It allows viewers to explore the symbolism, decorative elements and visual contrasts that might otherwise be overlooked from street level.

Alex Kanos is a French mural artist and visual designer specializing in large-scale public artworks that combine Art Nouveau influences, cyberpunk aesthetics and contemporary urban culture. Recurring themes such as identity, transformation, memory and resilience appear throughout his work, often expressed through hybrid characters that combine elegance, symbolism and futuristic design. Each artwork seeks to create a dialogue between past and future while encouraging viewers to reflect on the relationship between human beings and the technologies they create.
